FAQ's about Melissa-Gaye Designs Headpieces
What are your return and exchange policies?
Please choose carefully as we do not offer refunds or exchanges on Melissa-Gaye Designs headpieces for change of mind once the item has been shipped. There is no refund or exchange for items that have been worn or used. I try my absolute best to ensure that all descriptions are clear and photographs represent the colours as accurately as possible. As every computer screen shows colours differently depending on settings and the type of screen, I cannot guarantee that the colours will be an exact match to what you see on screen. If you are concerned about a colour match please contact me prior to purchase.
Delivery and Packaging Information
All headpieces are sent with Australia Post in a cardboard hat box wrapped in brown paper and packed with padding. As of yet I haven’t had any losses or damages, but it is better to be safe than sorry this is why I send with tracking and cover. If you would prefer not to have this contact me, and we can arrange an alternative.

How do I make payment?
Payments via the website are accepted through PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account and wish to pay by credit card or direct deposit, please contact me via email or Facebook and I can provide details.
The Melissa-Gaye Design headpiece will only be shipped once payment is received.
If you do not already have a PayPal account you can register at www.paypal.com.
What if the item is faulty on arrival?
If your headpiece is faulty on arrival please contact me by email within 48 hours of receiving the item, explaining the issue. Please do not return the item until I have responded with a return address. Refunds will not be issued until the item has been received and assessed.
Special care is taken to ensure items are safely packed however I am not liable for any damage that may occur in transit. If damage does occur in transit, please contact me within 48 hours and I will advise on what can be done to repair the item.
Can you make small changes to a design or make it in different colours other than shown?
I'm happy to accommodate special requests where possible, many of the ready-made designs may be able to have a colour accent added to compliment your outfit.

How does the headpiece stay on my head?
Larger, heaver headpieces with a base are secured to your head by elastic that tucks under your hair, secured using criss-crossed bobby pins. These pieces are designed to be worn well forward over your forehead, with the design feature sitting just above your eye. This style of wearing helps anchor the headpiece and prevents it from sliding backwards (which it will do if worn on top of the head). Wearing your hair in an up style (if you can), this also gives your headpiece something to anchor to.
Smaller, lighter headpieces without a base are on a covered headband.
I do not recommend changing the elastic fastening to a headband as a headband is not strong enough to hold the weight of the head piece on the head and if there is any sort of breeze, you will spend all day holding the head piece to your head.
I like to do the “Go-you-good-thing” test to assess the security of the head piece on your head. Shake your head while saying ‘go you good thing’, like you are cheering on a horse you have money on. If the head piece stays on then you know it’s not going to move all day.
